My daughter got a large rock from the quarry in Fall City, had it sliced in two and polished. One side is the grave stone at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent, WA, commenorating the life of Sam Goto. The other half is engraved with the cartoon that represents Sam's sayings and the sentiments that fill our house with boxes full of sticky notes and word balloons on our bathroom wall.
When Sam retired, he brought home boxes of his journals and notes. We have more boxes in our storage room as we have dismantled his home work-space in the house basement. I love going throught Sam's drawings stored on my closet shelf!
We can daily sit and contemplate these important values with the bathroom meditations. But the ingraved rock half sits on our entry steps, greeting our visitors and us as we come home!
